Joan Peters was born in Paris and opened her gallery in the Village of the Arts in Bradenton in 2002. Since its founding, the gallery has become a favorite destination for art enthusiasts throughout the region.

Trained as a lawyer, Joan always maintained a deep interest in art and painting. After relocating to Florida, she made the deliberate decision to pursue her lifelong passion full-time. Committed to artistic growth, she continually studies evolving art trends and refines her technique through advanced classes and workshops with master painters, integrating their instruction into her own evolving body of work.

Joan is especially drawn to plein air painting—the practice of creating art outdoors, on location—embracing both the challenge and beauty of capturing a scene in real time. The parks, waterways, and beaches of Southwest Florida provide endless inspiration. Visitors to the area may even spot Joan and fellow artists painting on site, translating the region’s natural charm directly onto canvas.
